Have you been told that you need orthodontic treatment, but you don’t want the hassle of traditional braces? Are you looking for an orthodontic treatment that does not require a mouthful of unsightly and uncomfortable metal? If so, the Invisalign system may be for you. Our Invisalign dentists can safely and quickly correct mild to moderate tooth crowding, alignment, and spacing issues using invisible aligners. Not only will you end up with a beautiful new smile, but no one will know about your orthodontic treatment if you don’t tell them. Call today for a consultation.
If our dentist determines that you are a candidate for Invisalign, we will take impressions, X-rays, and photos of your teeth that will be used to make a series of aligner trays made from clear plastic. These trays exert pressure on the teeth in a precise way so that they gradually shift into the correct position. You wear each pair of aligners for approximately two weeks before switching to the next pair in the series. You should wear the aligners 20 to 22 hours a day, but you can take them out to eat, brush, and floss your teeth. When you finish your series of aligners, you will have a beautiful, straight smile.
Your Invisalign cost is determined by the severity and complexity of your dental issues. We will provide you with an outline of your Invisalign cost once you and your dentist have decided on a treatment plan. If you have private or employer-sponsored dental insurance, a substantial portion of your Invisalign cost may be covered. Some dental plans include Invisalign insurance as part of their orthodontic coverage. If you need help determining if your plan covers Invisalign, we recommend speaking with your insurance provider or one of our helpful office staff. If you do not have insurance or need help with out-of-pocket expenses, be sure to ask us about our flexible payment plans and low-interest financing options.
The main factors that determine your treatment time are the severity of your alignment issues and your compliance with the treatment regimen. Treatment times typically range anywhere from 10 months to two years. Most of our adult patients wear their aligners for about a year. Treatment times for our teen patients tend to vary a little more. Your dentist can give you a better estimate of your treatment time following your initial consultation. The majority of our patients wear Invisalign retainers following their treatment to help keep their teeth in proper alignment.
All of our dentists have undergone Invisalign training and have extensive experience using the Invisalign system to correct a wide range of orthodontic issues. They will help you achieve the best possible results in the shortest possible time. Call today to find out if Invisalign is right for you.
Most teens and adults with mild to moderate orthodontic problems can benefit from Invisalign treatment. Our dentist will perform a comprehensive dental exam to make sure the treatment is appropriate for your unique dental issues. We normally recommend traditional braces for patients with severe crowding, alignment, and spacing issues. We do not recommend Invisalign for young children because of the complexity of their orthodontic issues and potential difficulties in complying with the treatment regimen.
Many of our patients are drawn to Invisalign for aesthetic reasons. Older patients undergoing orthodontic treatment typically prefer discreet alternatives. With Invisalign, you never have to worry about a mouth full of metal getting in the way of your smile. The fact that there are no brackets and wires means that there is no mouth and gum irritation. Since the aligners are removable, you can still eat all of your favorite foods, and you have less risk of developing gum disease or cavities. Unlike braces that require frequent visits to the orthodontist for adjustments, you only have to see our dentist every four to six weeks with Invisalign.
Other than wearing your aligners as directed and cleaning them on a daily basis, you do not have to change your lifestyle during your treatment. We have cleaning kits available at our office. You can also simply brush your aligners and rinse them in cool or lukewarm water. Of course, you should not chew gum or use tobacco products while wearing your aligners. You should also contact us right away if your aligner is damaged in any way so that we can get you a replacement. Wearing a damaged aligner will prolong your treatment.
